Fall has finally arrived in North Texas which only means that the high temps each day are no longer 90+ degrees! PLUS we have rain coming today!
The changing of the seasons reminds us how our lives continue to change as we walk on our journey. Each year seems to be going by faster and faster. Just a few years ago Kristen and I were a couple without children, and now we have 2 wonderful and amazing kiddos that keep us very busy and fill our lives and home with tons of laughter and joy. As we watch them grow, it seems each day/month/year goes by a little faster.
I see so many people in my life (including myself) who are so busy. There is always work to be done, errands to run, activities to go to. When you add kids into the mix the calendar fills up even more with soccer and school and birthday parties. So many of us are so busy in our lives that we don't stop often enough to enjoy the blessings that we have!
It often takes a major life crisis for so many of us to wake up and realize how blessed we are and how precious life is. My hope and wish for all of us would be that we could realize those things without having to go through a major crisis. I wish that we could learn how precious life is without the pain of loss or sickness. I wish that we would all learn how to rest and how to appreciate all that we have been blessed with.
During this change of the season, I encourage all of us to see how we might make a small change in our lives to more fully appreciate the life that we've been given.
